“Cutting Loose is a must read.”
Cutting Loose is the second installment of Ms.
Hardy's popular Sex and The Supper Club
series which chronicles the loves lives of a group of young women
in Los Angeles-whose friendship dates back to their college days.
Trish
Dawson has never quite shaken her "invisible girl" mentality
so it is no wonder that it takes a lot of persuasion to get her
into a sex fantasy costume for her friend Sabrina's themed party
celebrating the debut of the 'True Sex' documentary (see Turn
Me On). However, once Trish catches sight of her dominatrix
alter ego she is captivated and emboldened to act the part with
a masked stranger dressed as the Marquis de Sade. From his voice,
his eyes, and they way he moves, Trish knows that her mysterious
companion is sexy, powerful and for the moment, all hers! Yet, when
the mask comes off she is shocked to discover that her would-be
lover is none other than box-office golden boy, action star extraordinaire,
Ty Ramsay. The Ty Ramsay: who is not only gorgeous but in the words
of his cousin, Sabrina, "fatally sincere" when it comes
to women and the trail of broken hearts all over Hollywood. Trish,
having been forewarned and also considering Ty to be out of her
league, disappears but Ty's interest has been captured and he has
no qualms about utilizing his vast resources to get what (or rather
who) he wants.
I know
I've used the word hot to describe Ms. Hardy's previous
work and so it may be redundant if I was to categorize Cutting
Loose in this way -- but I just can't help myself! Cutting
Loose provides a sizzling, romantic getaway for readers. With
believable, likeable characters in situations ranging from the everyday
to exotic, Ms. Hardy has created a memorable modern romance with
good old-fashioned fairy tale sensibilities.
Cutting
Loose is also edgy, but not in an off-putting way. The characters
flirtation with bondage and domination creates a tantalizing dynamic
but does not detract from the core of this wonderfully romantic
story. It's a keeper for this reviewer, and definitely one of Ms.
Hardy's best works to date -- if not the best! Cutting
Loose is a must read, highly recommended for seasoned Blaze
fans and those readers as yet unfamiliar with this popular line.
The Sex
and The Supper Club series will continue with the release of Nothing
But The Best in December 2004 and I, of course, cannot wait!

“Cutting Loose…was fantastic.”
Trish Dawson gets a makeover; courtesy of her friend Cilla, to attend
a costume party being thrown by mutual friend, Sabrina. At the party
Trish attracts the eye of a handsome stranger. As the night proceeds,
the straight laced Trish decides to cut loose and have an affair
with the mysterious stranger…that is until the stranger removes
his mask and reveals his identity to be none other than mega movie
star Ty Ramsey, Sabrina’s cousin.
Sabrina
has always warned her friends about her womanizing love-em and leave-em
cousin Ty, so Trish rethinks her decision to let loose.
Ty is
intrigued with Trish and wants to see more of her so he arranges
to hire her as his personal assistant through her sister’s
company, Amber’s Assistants. As Trish shows up for the assignment
and spends more time with Ty, she can’t help but be smitten
by the guy with the dashing good looks and winning personality.
She rethinks her decision for a fling and the two soon become more
than employer and employee. What consequences will this decision
have for the couple? Will cutting loose prove to be the right move
after all?
Cutting
Loose, the second installment of Kristin Hardy’s Sex
And The Supper Club series was fantastic. Cutting Loose
introduces up to the second couple of Ty Ramsey and Trish Dawson
who are charming. Ms Hardy does a splendid job of showing that Ty
is much more that the womanizing ladies man he portrays to the public.
The sexual chemistry between the lead couple is blazing hot and
will leave the reader wanting more. We also get another glimpse
into the lives of the other members of the supper club. Whose story
will be the next to be told?
It takes
great skill to write this type of ensemble story, as the writer
must tell the story of not only the main couple but make the supporting
cast interesting enough that the reader will want to return for
the next installment of the series. Ms. Hardy does an excellent
job of doing this in her series. I can’t wait to see who gets
their story told in the next book, Nothing But the Best
(December 2004). -- Barb Smith

“For a great way to pass the day, read Cutting Loose”
Trish Dawson feels very out of place at her friend Sabrina’s
party. The fact that it is a “come as your favorite sex fantasy”
party and Trish is dressed in leather doesn’t help. Nor does
the fact one guy watches Trish the whole time she is there, and
kisses her before she leaves. Once Trish finds out the man she was
kissing is Sabrina’s movie star cousin Ty Ramsay, she bolts
and starts trying to forget him. However, Ty has other ideas. Having
found out what Trish does for a living, Ty hires her to be his personal
assistant. Trish’s boss, her sister Amber, makes it impossible
for Trish to refuse the assignment. Trish goes to Ty’s house
determined to tell him there can never be a romance between them,
but gets sucked into helping Ty with a movie he is currently filming.
She rewrites the script and helps Ty practice some scenes.
Ty
Ramsey was drawn to the knockout in leather from the moment she
walked into his cousin’s house. When he kisses her on impulse,
it seals his fate. He has to get to know her better. Ty doesn’t
count on Trish running away when she finds out who he is, nor does
he count on her fighting the mutual attraction so fiercely. Ty discovers
Trish has some self-image problems, but doesn’t understand
why. She’s perfect to him. But when he finds out she is writing
a screenplay of her own, in addition to rewriting the one he is
acting in, he starts to think she has ulterior motives. And when
she can’t commit to their relationship, Ty figures all is
lost.
Kristen
Hardy had this reviewer flipping pages to see how the story ended.
Being somewhat self-conscious myself, I could understand exactly
where Trish was coming from, although I did get a little tired of
her constantly putting herself down. Ty sounds like a hero I’d
like to meet; he’s polite, sexy, and able to look under the
surface to the real person. The author proves that by having Ty
freeze Trish’s sister Amber out when Amber comes to check
on the job Trish is doing. When Amber starts criticizing Trish the
minute Amber walks in the door, Ty politely but firmly tells Amber
to leave. The main conflict of this novel is the fact that Trish
has been conditioned by her sister and her friends to believe she
is the non-sexual one of the group. Trish proves them wrong with
sizzling sex scenes with Ty, supposedly to help him practice the
script. There is very mild bondage in this story, but it shouldn’t
offend many people. This reviewer can’t wait to see who’s
story is next. For a great way to pass a day, read Cutting Loose.
It comes highly recommended.--Angela Camp

"Cutting Loose is a sexy, attractive story"
In this latest in the Sex & the Supper Club series,
aspiring screenwriter Trish Dawson is working as an assistant at
her sister's company. Casual, low-key Trish shocks everyone by attending
a dress-as-your-favorite-sexual-fantasy party as a leather-clad
dominatrix. She enojoys the change and flirts outrageously with
a man dressed as the Marquis de Sade. To her horror, she doscovers
that he's her friend's cousin, Ty Ramsay, a box-office hero and
herartbreaker. She vows to have nothing to do with him, but Ty,
dissatisfied with his fast-paced life and eager to make changes,
hires Trish to be his assistant. Cutting Loose (4) by Kristin
Hardy is a sexy, attractive story. Ty and Trish are likeable, and
seeing Trish discover her sensual side and grow into a woman with
a strong self-image is heartwarming.--Paige Traynor
